The Impact
Since 2025, across four journeys in the Himalayas, New Zealand and Tibet, we have connected with 40 song requesters, carried 43 songs into the mountains, and removing 41 bags and more than 440 kg of rubbish along the way.
Journey 01 — Himalayas

20 days · 20 bags · approx. 140 kg
Our first journey took Songs for the Mountains into the Himalayas.
We carried 16 requested songs from 15 people into the mountains, singing and filming them along the way.
At the same time, over 20 days, we collected one bag of rubbish each day — around 7 kg per bag — carrying approximately 140 kg of rubbish out of the mountains.
Journey 02 — New Zealand

5 mountains · less than 1 kg of rubbish
Our second journey took us across 5 mountains in New Zealand's South Island, carrying 7 songs requested by 7 people.
Across all 5 mountains, we collected less than 1 kg of rubbish.
It was one of our smallest clean-ups by weight — and one of our favourite numbers.
Because ultimately, less rubbish is the impact we hope to see.
Journey 03 — Himalayas
10 song requesters · 11 songs
10 days · 10 bags · approx. 70 kg
For our third journey, we returned to the Himalayas with 11 songs requested by 10 people.
For 10 days, we continued the same simple practice: carrying songs into the mountains and picking up what did not belong there.
By the end of the journey, we had collected 10 bags of rubbish, weighing approximately 70 kg in total.
Journey 04 — Tibet

2 days · 26 bags · approx. 230 kg
Our fourth journey took us to Tibet, carrying 9 songs and the stories and blessings of 8 song requesters.
Over two days, we collected 26 large bags of rubbish, averaging around 9 kg each — approximately 230 kg in total.
But for us, impact isn't only measured in kilograms.
It lives in every song carried into the mountains, every blessing shared, every person connected through a story, and every piece of rubbish carried back out.
