Thank you, Dhaulagiri. This film is a thank-you letter — to Dhaulagiri, and to all the people encountered along the way. The mountains have given me far more than landscapes. They have brought people, stories and moments into my life that have quietly shaped who I am. Some people walk beside us for years; others pass through only briefly, yet every encounter leaves something behind. Perhaps caring for a mountain is not only about what we remove or leave untouched, but also about remembering what it has given us — beauty, encounters, life, and moments that can never be repeated. Thank you to the mountains, and to every living beings I met along the way.

Hey, Anna, going up or going down? After two summit attempts on Annapurna, we faced a choice: continue upward or turn back. The summit was only 400 metres away, but continuing would demand more from our Sherpa guide while the route ahead remained uncertain. I chose to descend. For me, loving a mountain has never meant having to stand on its summit. Sometimes respect means knowing when to turn around — respecting the mountain, while caring for every life that enters it with us. People matter more than summits.

So we gotta have dreams, because dreams can in the end come true. I first saw Everest when I was thirteen, and a dream began there. More than twenty years later, I finally entered the place I had imagined countless times. Along the way, I sang the music I loved to the mountain and documented the journey with the camera I loved. I never wanted to conquer Everest. I wanted to come closer, to know her, and to bring back something of what I saw — so that others might also see how much beauty exists on this planet, and how deeply it deserves our care. This film is for anyone still carrying a dream. We are allowed to dream, because some dreams, however distant they may seem, really can come true if we keep carrying them with us.

What’s It Like to Film Above 8,000m? A music film about what it means to create images above 8,000 metres. As a filmmaker who regularly works at high altitude, I climb with my camera — through thin air, cold, wind and physical exhaustion. For me, filming mountains is never simply about observing them from a distance. It means entering the landscape with my whole body, and bringing back something of what I saw and felt there.
